grr,i was working on a project and rendering a pic and it exited out,I was working on it for 2 hours and then I lose it >:( >:( >:(
-
The same happened to me several times, I know how you feel... My only advice is:
I know your mother has told you this a hundred times but I'll say it again:
SAVE YOUR WORK OFTEN!
-
Don't fret, it won't happen again, for now you know that you have to save your work each time you've added something that you don't want to lose ;)
-
Yeah, that's happened to me too, it's really annoying. By the way, what project was you working on?
-
Another peice of advice:
If you make a lot of changes or additions to your project, save as a lot of different files as you are progressing, i.e.
Enterprise-1
Enterprise-2
Enterprise-3
etc.
This way if there's been an error or something you weren't aware of, you have something recent to fall back on. Undo is your friend, but if you close the file, Anim8or crashes, or you switch to another mode (ie.e scene) your undo information is lost.

Shame there's not a toggle, so you can auto save at given intervals.
Would ba a cool feature for any future updates or updates.

Now I'm gonna save every 15 mins on a project I'm working on

you can do a lot in 15 minutes. better to save every 5.
and do an extra save before every render, in case the renderer crashes.
;D

Well yea,The render crashes when i make a movie too :-\

Hmm... Anim8or closes on me too when I try to render, or even open a file.
I brought this up a while ago and some very helpful people enlightened me to the fact that my computers power supply was insufficient. So maybe a new PC, or some upgrades to yours and its power supply might fix your problem.
And yes, I tend to save whenever I so much as texture a mesh.
The annoying part is when it crashes when you press 'Save' :)
-
lol yeah thats valuable advice.SAVE AT RIDICULOUS INTERVALS!and if its that bad, try defraging your computer or buying a RAM upgrade.
-
defragmentation of a computer can do great things.(like the time i uninstalled american mcgee's alice yet it was still on there)it lowered crashes about 50% and yes unimaginabley small intervals of saving can save 2 hours of your life...wow,when i put it that way it made it seem more of a big deal than i thought...listen to these people!
