Title: Want to animate dragon wings, how?

 :) ;) :D ;D >:( :( :o 8) ??? ::) :P :-[ :-X :-\ :-* :'(

Hi forum. I want to animate a dragon shape that I created. I want to make it so the wings are flapping like a bird.

The dragon looks like this..

I think what I need to do is split the dragon into parts or something like that. I don't quite get it. Can't I just make the skeleton inside the shape and assign certain parts to each bone.. How does it work, I'm a bit new to this.

i suggest you use weight paininting, that is what you said. adding a skeleton inside and painting on which parts of the object is affected by the bones.

I suggest you look at the manual to find out how.

There are two painted weight tutorials on this site.  One in the beginners section and one in the intermediate section.  I advise you check them both out. (http://www.mp3d.info/Anim8ortutorials/index.html)
