Title: Need Help Here
Post by: rexdino5 on April 21, 2008, 12:58:00 pm
Hey, whats up? I was just going to tell you that I'm 11 years old and please don't ban me if i'm to young.  I just have no idea how to create the 3d models.  I'm intrested in animation so i started to look at google for 3d animating and here i am. Oh and how do you move objects. Do you make a new frame or something?

rexdino5, welcome to the forum.
There is no age restriction.  There are a number of anim8or users that are young as you are.  That's no worry to us.
This first question is pretty simple, which leads me to believe you probably haven't read the manual.  That should be your first step.  Read it, and EXPERIMENT!  that's one of my biggest tips, play with the tools.  Then follow tutorials.  There are some on the site, and there are many  more scattered over the web, just use google.
You can find the manual here:  http://anim8or.com/manual/index.html (http://anim8or.com/manual/index.html)
Good luck!

actually, we were thinking of introducing an age limit, so you'd have to be 21 to visit anim8or.com or to download the program...

just kidding, of course.  ;D  i'd just like to add to hihosilver's and almost_cool's advice, and say that as well as tutorials, there are also various anim8or files available for free download, in various places around the web, with pre-built objects, figures and scenes.  you might want to get a couple of those, and experiment with them.  look at how they're put together, modify them, change them around a bit and make them into something similar but different.  :)  sort of an "if you want to know how cars work, start by taking a car to pieces and reassembling it" approach.

anyways, welcome to the forum.  we'll look forward to seeing your first WIP!
