Hey all.
I don't really use Anim8or a lot. I'm not even experienced with it that much. But the other day I felt like using it :P . So then I felt like making Bender from the show FUTURAMA. Heres a Side shot from what I have done. Once I'm done making the model, I'll work on the texturing.

Also, I need some suggestions. I've tried making the arms but they don't turn out very well. Anyone have any ideas on that?
And also, How does it look? :D

From memory Bender's arms are kinda like convoluted hoses. I would use the spline tool to draw a zig zag line (with Snap to Grid turned on) and lathe the zig zag.

Not bad. Is his head a sphere atop a cylinder? If so, You should delete the bottom half of the sphere and merge the cylinder with the newly formed hemisphere. It will look much better and get rid of the crease between the cylinder and the sphere.

Nice start, though if you see the image:

Benders body isn't a perfect cylinder, so you might want to work on the body a bit

what about using cylinders with a vertical striped black and white texture as a bumpmap for the arms...just a thought...
-
Why not just add a small 1-ring cylinder to each side, then extrude-rotate the faces a few times?
I don't think a bumpmap would work: I would have though excessive lighting / reflection effects would ruin the cartoon atmosphere.

It really depends, do you to faithful to the cartoon Bender or make a "true" Bender, but use the Toon rendering technique or something?
