I'm lately using Anim8or a lot more for CAD functions. The snap-to-distance and ability to set the grid make it very handy for this kinda stuff. But I usually have to take my projects over to a drawing application to make clean .svg vectors and stuff and add in the proper measurements.
There are three things though that I think would make Anim8or an amazing tool for CAD prototyping (at least for me):
1) toggleable "show measurements"-type things that displayed absolute height, width or depth of an object from its widest points, instead of just one measuring from the origin (since then
2) Render with measurements (the ones mentioned above)
3) Wireframe rendering (This is already in though, isn't it? OpenGL or something?)
Carry on though, Steve! You've already got me hooked on using Anim8or for this stuff, so for my use it's just me hoping to make my workflow easier xDD
Merry Christmas!

Good suggestions, davdud101.
1) You might check out the CAD annotations feature again. It does show the width and height, as well as the absolute distances from the origin - is that what you are asking about?
2) Rendering with measurements is an interesting idea. I'll see if I can enable it for the OpenGL renderer. It's quite a bit of work for the other renderers because they don't have the concept of wire frame or bit-mapped lettering.
3) Likewise I'll see what I can do about wireframe OpenGL rendering - it shouldn't be too difficult to add.
Thanks for the nice comments (http://www.anim8or.com/em/johnar/smile.gif)

yay another CAD user :P
Remember I also suggested "Angle between path segments" but also just thought that "Angle between selected edges" would be good (provided edges are joined by a vertex)

I just posted Build 1314 (http://www.anim8or.com/download/preview/files/animcl1314.zip) that displays the angle between selected edges.
The screen can become really crowded with all these values displayed at once. Note that you can disable point related values (position and angle) by disabling point selection and line length by disabling edge selection in the point editor. I also added highlighting in orange for mouse-over to try and make the values more readable.
It might be necessary to add a option dialog to enable/disable the kind of CAD information that is shown.
Let me know what you think.
