Title: Mouse Sensitivity?
Post by: CoriDavis on September 15, 2017, 04:38:01 pm
I'm not sure if that's even the right word, but it seems like no matter how far I'm zoomed in and I try to rotate something, it always rotates at the same increments.

When something isn't aligned exactly parallel to the ground, my instinct is to rotate it until the lines are straight. If it moves too much, then I zoom in and think it will move at smaller increments relative to how far I'm zoomed in. But it seems to be rotating the same amount no matter how far I'm zoomed in, or how slowly I move my mouse.

Is there a setting to change this sensitivity? I'm guessing not, but I thought I'd bring it up because I can't fix this and it's driving me crazy:

two recent changes that are probably worth mentioning here:
1) snap-to-grid behaviour has changed when using the rotate tool; i think turning snap on and then retrying the rotation should make it snap to the nearest 5-degree orientation iirc - or you can specify a custom precision level in the Options > Grid dialogue
2) you can now manually enter the exact orientation you want through the element editor dialogue (that feature made me very happy when it was added, i must say)

While I was waiting for a reply, I discovered how to manually enter in the orientation. Thank goodness. I wish I had discovered it sooner.

i don't think it's been there all that long, to be fair :)

I posted a fix for a lot of issues with rotation and coordinate systems. Give this a try:
