Title: Help with LWO File
Post by: argo34116 on April 23, 2016, 01:26:16 am
Help please? Can someone convert this LWO file for me? Even though Anim8or has LWO in the drop down for importing, it will not import these files. I have obtained permission to use this, but cannot get a good conversion of it anywhere. I have also included the textures here.

I have used that, but I keep getting this problem. See the pictures below. Note the areas around the windows. For some reason I cannot get rid of the patches around them, even after fixing normals or even flipping them.

Just an update. I was able to convert it and get it to look good without patches on windows. Had to convert to obj then use anim8or to tweak textures and convert to cmod. Thank you.

Good that you fixed it. I recommend only using the obj format when importing meshes. 3ds is outdated and is limited in the number of vertices it can have, and also can import in an odd structure with grouped meshes and duplicate vertices. LWO (at least, the version Anim8or supports) is extremely outdated and isn't really a universally accepted format anyway. OBJ is still relevant today and retains the original mesh structure and will likely reduce the number of issues you have when using premade assets in Anim8or.

What version of LWO does Anim8or support? So far I have not encountered any.

Try using 3d Exploration at link> http://gamespacelite.freeforums.org/3d-exploration-for-working-with-battlezone-ii-xsi-models-t727.html It can convert most older model formats.
