Title: How do I resize a texture to fit in
Post by: argo34116 on April 03, 2016, 02:42:39 am
Ok. I have learned something. I now have a basic understanding of how to use point edit to place a texture on a model. How do I get the texture to fit into the area of the model and display properly? See picture below

Select the area where you want the texture to appear. Click the apply button as you would when adding textures, then click the UV tool (Keystroke Shift/ U)

You should now have a Yellow Box with a yellow circle, use the left. middle and right mouse buttons within and outside the circle  to orientate and scale the texture. This does take some getting used to, but once you get the hang of it, it comes naturally!

I am on a laptop. Any keyboard shortcuts to help? Or maybe I should just invest in a real mouse? It is difficult to work with the one on the laptop. I just have to shrink the texture to fit into that area, then repeat for other side and front and wings.

use an earlier version of anim8or ....for resizing ...alt plus right button on your laptop... the good old days the sensible days.
then reload into the latest unfriendly to laptop users version for latest bells and whistles.

Ok. I got a real mouse and spent many hours with no success. This is frustrating. I hate to ask to be spoonfed this, but can someone do this for me with the proper markings and textures and attach it here? Or at least provide a video or written instructions for working with this specific model? I have attached the model and textures below.

These instructions apply to any model.

I'll give you a free hint though...your problem this time isn't really related to the UV tool. Learn to use the cut tool and cut a rectangle around the label you want to keep, then apply a non-textured material to the rest of the faces you wish to keep blank.

 Excellent video Raxx

Congratulations argo on your new mouse. (http://s6.postimg.org/p4cqdev8d/grysmile.gif) The above video posted by Raxx shows what you can do with the UV tool. Take a note of which MB does what and where, then, with some practice, and as Kreator said:
