I would recommend reading the manual.

Heres the part about the primary shapes in the object editor www.anim8or.com/learn/manual/3_object_editor.html#basic_objects

I would recommend reading the manual.

I don't mean to be rude or anything, but I Lol'd so hard that reply.
I could give that answer to pretty much anything someone could ask me.

The eggplant tutorial is also a good place to learn about the basics and it doesn't take long to do...

Let's face it, for a 3D animation package Anim8or's manual is very, very short, and there really isn't any excuse for not reading it or at least using it as a primary reference before posting on the forum.  To the OP, have a read of the Extrude and Lathe sections, the shapes you mention are easily created with these tools.

I probably would actually FORGET to put a link to the location for the information in the manual. When I first started I didn't even consider reading the manual and I always wondered why I was getting no where

Ever heard of Cosmic Blobs? At that time, I was "debating" between the two :O

Yeah i always and still do on occasion tend to click the wiggly thing next to the not so wiggly thing on the left then don't press the weird shaped thing but the thing next to that .Used to work for me initially. ;)
What i mean to say is the language and terms are undeniably helpful and they are in the manual.
I remember the days i spent getting to grips with it.I printed it out in its entirety, carried it around about with me everywhere and went to bed with an imaginary version of anim8or in my head.Good times. :)

If anyone wants me to I can upload the manual to Lulu.com so you can order a printed copy. There is one there now but it's in full color so it's a bit expensive. I'm not 100 % happy with it. I  think it would be more useful as a spiral bound book so you could open it flat on the table.

hehehe, the only part of the manual I have read is the materials bit when Ambient Occlude was introduced. Oh and a little bit of the ASL part.

Clear-files have ring binding, so it sits open-flat, and you can add more clear pages.

First thing i did after downloading anim8or was to print out the manual and put it in a clearfile.
Wouldn't have been without it. (http://s6.postimg.org/4y98eizkt/grywink.gif)

Did Steve ever fix the help button in Anim8or to load the CHM help file to load within Anim8or? Sadly, I still mostly fall back of 097 Preview. Is it working in the latest release of A8?

Not sure bout the .CHM help file, but the Anim8orhelp.hlp file works fine.
Loads in Anim8or 1179.
