Alright, so I've NEVER been able to figure out a surefire, failure-free way to set up two views (like left and front, for example) in two different cameras. It seems hit-and-miss to select a view of the two, go to the left view, and then go back to two views... only SOMEtimes does it change the view.
Is there something I'm doing wrong? Is there a particular way to do this properly?

Things have changed. The multi view ports now seem to work a lot better than they used to.
Go to 2 views. In the left top corner of each view, left click and view option dialog appears. In first view, from small dropdown in top left corner, Choose (eg:) front. That view should now be front view. Go to the other view, top left corner, select 'left'.
That view should now be left view. Is this not working for you?
Oops. Reading more carefully, you're talking about Camera views?
Yes, the dropdown options in each view only give one camera option. They should probably also have 'other -> camera 2' as is in the main view menu.

Whoops. I meant to say views there. I'll see how this works when I get on today.

The "camera" view is the active camera, the one that will be used when rendering a movie. The Other->Camera01/Camera02/Light01 etc. are views from a specific camera or spotlight.

Ahhhh, that was it. I never knew about this. Man, I literally learn something new each day! Thanks, guys!

I'll change the wording to "Active Camera" to make that more obvious.
