So following the start of my graphics class at school, I'm back in the swing of animation.. this go around, i wanted to try an animated short. I have a script and storyboard all out, plus I did sketches for the two featured characters, and finally modeled and rigged them. The pics are attached... tell me what you guys think so far!
(of course I'm keeping the story a bit vague at the moment... animation tests next!)

Cool. (http://s6.postimg.org/p4cqdev8d/grysmile.gif)
Animated gifs are sometimes a good option for showing off short animation tests

Thanks for the suggestion, johnar- know of any software I make them with?
-
Okay I have a cool test going but Anim8or is having that "flipping bones" problem. I add key frames in the scene or sequence mode, and then suddenly it tried to interpolate the data and ends up making the bones spin in a full circle to the new key. Is there a solution for this yet??
-
Usually when that happens Setting your bones to No Limits is the culprit Its easy and quick to set them up that way, but you have paid the price! No arms are capable of Spinning So the Max IMO should be up to -45/45 Then you have no problems
-
WHY didn't I think of that, krater!! I'm gonna do that... I always set mine to no limits, obviously for THAT reason! Haha, I'll have animation tests very soon. Thanks!

I was lucky with a computer i bought several years back, which had 'Photoshop-7' and 'Imageready-7' installed. (last century software, i think, but good as gold)
Image ready is an awesome animated gif maker.
There are free programs out there, but, because i have image-ready, i've never really needed to try any of them out. I bet you can find a good free one tho....or someone else will steer you in a good direction. (http://s6.postimg.org/p4cqdev8d/grysmile.gif)

haven't gone in much for animated gifs myself, but i'm pretty sure GIMP can make them, among many other functions - it's an open-source package from www.gimp.org which i use a lot for general image manipulation work
-
Oh yeah, I use GIMP frequently... I'll have to look into that feature. Actually I have HitFilm which might export gifs. I'm gonna set those restraints....

here's a video preview with a small clip of a song I made a couple weeks before starting this.
At some point I sort of didn't feel like doing much more, in addition to that Anim8or is seemingly too laggy on Win7 to be very stable/practical. Enjoy this, though, while I get to work on the actual animation!

Cool video, Davdud101! What is that song?
-
Ooh, I didnt' really mention- that's my song I released a while ago. I'd link it but idk what Raxx/Steve would say haha!
-
Anyway, the little guy really puts his heart into playing it--very entertaining. Looking forward to seeing the completed animation.

Very cool davdud101,
A simple figure, but when he's playing that bugle, he transforms into something awesome.
Really cool, and like the way you put the time in to get his eyes happening.
Great song too. (no-ones worked out how to put sound in a gif yet?) (http://s6.postimg.org/4y98eizkt/grywink.gif)
looking fwd to updates....really cool.. well done... (http://s24.postimg.org/o4uvmxwjl/Thumbs_Up_G1.gif)
