Title: Toy Wagon Rendered in ART
Post by: ronaldefarmer on November 01, 2014, 11:12:35 pm
Here is a toy wagon rendered in ART with ambient occlusion and local lights. I'm still not getting the lighting and shadow effects that I want, in part because my "sky plane" seems to be interfering with the ambient lighting. Does anyone know how to make an object in a scene transparent to ambient lighting?

Nice render so far :)

I don't believe it's possible to set the ART renderer to ignore specific elements, it's going to do it for the whole scene regardless. To get proper lighting and such, you could render an AO/shadow version of the scene using white materials (and hide the sky plane), and then in an image editor set that as a multiply layer over a non-shadow version. Or else make the same render as you posted except without the sky plane, and then another render with just the sky plane (using the scanline renderer), and just put the ART render on top of the sky plane render (if you use PNG in the newest dev version, this is an easy task).
