Is it posiible to attach an object to a bone in the scenes editor? Because making another figure just to add an object in character's hand looks... inconvenient to me.

hi JunkerKun,
i think that its not possible yet, but you can reuse the figure using export and re-import function :)
in "figure mode"
figure--> export...(export you figure in .an8 file)
figure--> import...(import you figure) be generate other/copy of your figure..
now you can add you hand and have "two differents figures" to use in scene mode ok!
cheers!! :)

I think if you add another Bone you may lose all the Painted weights or bone influences.
Planning is essential when rigging a model.

Yes it is possible and I have done this twice. For example if you are adding a wooden spoon object to a cartoon chef hand, simply go to the figure editor add your spoon and it will appear in the scene editor. Now simply save your anim8or file to your hard drive and name - chef with spoon. So now you have 2 anim8or files, 1= cartoon chef has no spoon.
2= cartoon chef has a spoon in his hand.
I hope this helps you.

Thanks for clearing this up, guys! Guess I'll have to stick with duplicating figures.

I used Ian's technique in the sword fight scene. Just be careful about positioning the two models in the scene for a seamless animation. I also did this, a while back:

In this one, I used only one character model (one figure/sequence), and paths for the two basketballs (objects). It may depend on what is happening in the scene.
