Title: The site is being a slug lately

I mean it keeps having connection problems more frequently than usual. Is it just me, or is Steve messing with the server's electronics ???

not just you - i've been getting a fair number of "can't connect to SMF database" errors lately

As far as I know, it's the result of the webhost limiting the total number of simultaneous connections to the database to a lower capacity than what our forum traffic requires.

I've already brought this issue up to Steve.

My provider won't allow more than 10 simultaneous connections. They want everyone to upgrade to a dedicated server for more. I'm considering doing that but it won't happen until after I get back from Italy in August at the earliest.

WOW really, sounds like a pretty bad isp to me. Though the over priced internet limited to a certain amount of gigs a month makes mine not all that great either ;)

it just started acting up for me today, I got like 3 within 6 minutes. they're not major roadblocks- i don't usually even take note of them, but they do occur
