Sakuya from Touhou, I need to make the texture more definitive:

This looks really good, is this character going to be used in a game?
-
The changes are so subtle but how powerfully they transform the model and elevate the sense of mass/form.
skillful work.Thanks for the look.
-
@ captaindrewi, Thanks, it's all about using texture to define the model really.
@ ianross, Yes, she will be used in a game. Along with another Touhou character, Marisa the ordinary witch:

Looking good, Soy! 8)

I think I like the hair colour on the first model better but still love what ever you make :D
-
Thanks guys. I too find something about gray hair to be a degree more eye catching than silver given her color scheme. Maybe it's just that it makes her head dress pop better.
Sakuya is fully rigged (apart from face and hands). Her knees, elbows and waist are looking to have nice transformations!

Flandre Scarlet!
-
Lol it looks like she has a cradle for her wings XD
Also I am just noticing now, or more or less actually bothering to type this out now, that your Sakuya character's legs have a slight bit too much of a curve to them (it looks like she has lack of nutrients causing her bones to warp (can't remember the medical term for that)), just to let you know.
Also do you have a donate button, I kinda want to donate directly to this project as I am anticipating it quite a bit.
-
Cradle, huh? Usually people see tree-branch in there.
That is an interesting observation, I'll see what I can do about it.
I don't have a Kickstarter up for this project, yet. But if you want to donate now, there is always my pay pal:

Reimu the Shrine Maiden:

Sakuya, Marisa and Reimu are all fully rigged, even to the details in their face (although this image does not showcase it)
edit-- Remilia and Flandre are rigged too!

ah, fss… you know I'm a fan! I love how your models really reflect the beauty of modeling and texturing in games from the Gamecube-era and the like. Just fantastic!
-
where did you learn to do character models like that?
-
Thanks Davdud.
And, Deepthought, I didn't go to a school to do that if that's what your asking. The answer is actually in Davdud's post; All I did was heavily analyze models from Game Cube and PS2 games, break down all of the techniques that they did and emulate them. No reason to reinvent the wheel when you can stand on the shoulders of real artistry.

Working on Meiling...
Also I just did Cirno:
And Rumia!
-
So fss, I'm wondering; when it comes to articles of clothing like the thick socks, are those modeled as separate objects? Or are they actually geometrically part of the leg and then textured differently?
-
Actually, they are geometrically the same model as the subject and UVmapped in the same alignment too.
The reason I do this is because when animating, I have come into a lot of clipping issues when I used to just try to do an overlay.
edit--
