Title: Cute Witch, Marisa Kirisame as a paper doll
Post by: fromsoysauce on September 08, 2013, 11:18:28 pm
I find it a lot easier to manipulate 2D images in anim8or than any other program, funny how that works. These are to be printed out and used for a stop motion.

How I did it:

After spending so many hours working on her, I've kinda gotten attached too her. It's kinda of a shame that I don't know how anything about stuff like adobe flash.

On the other hand, I know exactly how to make a program that could make animation output as good as adobe flash using game maker...

Maybe one of these days after I'm done with making a few video games, I might take a break and make a cartoon instead.

Hahahahaha, that was very cool, effective, and nicely done, FSS!  Corny?  To be sure!  But an excellent example of stop-motion video that presents a convincing story.  Who needs fancy special effects when you can come up with that?

On the other hand, long, long ago, in a place far, far away, I went to school with a fellow who filmed his own stop-motion stuff with bendable and poseable 3D model figures, buildings, cars, trees, etcetera, etcetera, and I know it took him a LONG time to script and film.  It was quite tedious work.  So, as "simple" as your video looks, I know it wasn't just a drop in the bucket.

Now we have great 3D programs to help, but it still takes a lot of talent to create.

I LOL'd so much at the yoshi sound at the end. I thought the various camera angles and fast movement parts looked really good. keep it up

Man, forget flash. JavaScript + HTML5 is the way to do it. Free, easy (If you don't mind programming), and cross-platform. Love the stop motion, and the sprite sheet is great!
