Title: Branching splines?
Post by: Modeler_in_the_Myst on September 04, 2013, 01:51:26 am
Specifically, can you do this?
It would help awesomely for making trees, but I am not sure how to do it or if it's even possible

In short, no. It's possible to make that functionality with ASL (either with splines or as a parametric tree-gen script), but it's a pretty substantial task. It would be nice to be able to extrude a face along a spline (also can be done via ASL), perhaps worth a suggestion in the Feature Request Thread.

Oh well, thanks for the info.

OK, I hope this doesn't break too many forum taboos, but rather than make a new topic, I have another, rather unrelated question. I am trying to make a lit light-bulb, one that looks like a featureless piece of light in the shape of the bulb that lights up the scene.
I've tried various combinations materials and lighting in the scene editor, but nothing looks quite how I want. Not by half. Does anyone have any good tips on achieving this kind of effect?
