Title: My Anim8or story
Post by: Jesse on September 12, 2012, 11:11:22 am
Hi everyone,

I wanted to share a story.
In early 1999, my family got dial-up Internet and I discovered Anim8or. I was in high school and had no 3D modeling experience. I downloaded the manual and read every word. I made a couple of renders, which are still on display in the Gallery.

After high school, I worked a construction factory and on my free time after work, I would program and model as a hobby. Few years and a few games later, I discovered a game development program being offered at nearby college. I jumped on it and sent in my portfolio of Anim8or renders and games. (Many graphics made with Anim8or). I graduated and was hired as a game programmer for a studio. I like Anim8or. It has helped me a lot and I appreciate it.

Hi Jesse... I remember seeing your name while browsing the gallery, when I was still a newbie! I think it still was v0.85... aah, good ol' times...
Nice game by the way.

I have to agree, that your account is quite inspirational. I've come to appreciate Anim8or for what it is simply fantastic! I'm just a casual model maker, but making video game models is quite pleasurable for me as a hobby. Leroy.

Wow. I'll have to download this when I get back on my computer opposed to the tablet I'm on now.
What did you write this in?

Cool! I never gave up Anim8or, it's a very powerfull tool, also use it at my job. Here are some still images from one of my latest projects.
I've modeled and animated the alien in ani8or, and I've used AE cs5.5 for compositing.

Ooh, really cool-looking, dan! Is that an image for the room, or is it modelled? (looks *just above* the line of being 'too good' to be modelled to me) :D
