I've been using the latest version 0.97, but should I use an earlier version like 0.95 instead? Will all current ASL scripts work with 0.95 or are some specifically written for 0.97? Thanks Leroy.

0.97 is perfectly stable, it just has a few partially-integrated (ie. not fully GUI supported) features such as the ART renderer attributes so it is technically a 'preview' rather than a full version. I have been using it instead of 0.95 since it came out with no stability issues. All ASL scripts should be supported as far as I know.

Thanks, it would seem that 0.97 is the best version to use as when I run 0.95 some scripts don't load/display compared to 0.97. I also like that the debug window can be disabled in 0.97. Anim8or, really is quite an excellent modeling tool. I seem to prefer it over Truespace in many ways. I've got my fingers crossed that future Anim8or development eventually resumes to add more features to an already fine work of computing knowledge. Kudos, to Steve and the others who see the true value of Anim8or. Cheers, Leroy.

I think I'll try out 9.7 too. I've been using .95 since I discovered Anim8or.

WHOA! I can't imagine life WITHOUT .97 anymore! I used .95 in the past, but .97 (after learning what made it much more advantageous) is so big a jump that you're missing out by not having it.

I did notice that my renders look more realistic now, but that could just be me

Might be that sugar pill 'placebo' effect... You think it's doing something when it's not. Idk, if you only rendered with the Scanline, it can't be much different.

It would be a good choice as some scripts don't show up in 0.95. I guess because they were written for 0.97?

I do only render with Scanline, and I've never tried out any scripts so... yeah.
