I've tried the add edge tool but it won't set a single point unless I do it from an existing point. Thought I'd ask just in case I'm missing some tool that does this task. Thanks, Leroy. Truespace, has a tool for this called, Add Vertex: points are the same as vertices right?

One way you can do this in Anim8or is by using the knife tool, by dragging the knife across the edge(s). If dragging across a face the new points are joined by an edge, but if only cutting a single edge the effect is the addition of a vertex point.

I've never even used the knife tool. I select the edge and click "Cut Edges" from the Edit menu. If that is what you're trying to do

If you want to create a mesh from thin air, that is, draw an edge from nothing, enable the Add Edge tool, then hold shift and click-drag in the workspace.
But to add points/edges to pre-existing edges, use the methods described above ;)

Heh, I am often amazed at how such a simple program can provide multiple ways of doing things, I've never used the cut edges feature! Assuming that is what the OP was asking, on re-reading the question I may have jumped to a conclusion based on the subject line rather than the content, in which case apologies.

Thanks to all. I'll apply the suggestions given. Leroy.
