Title: WIP New Zoey Model
Post by: fromsoysauce on April 12, 2012, 03:37:35 pm
So I'm working on a new model for my character Zoey Brooks, from my game Bullet Life. This time around I was trying to get an art style that was a lot less Anime.

I'd like to ask first of all, which hair looks better on her, top has longer hair, bottom has shorter hair. I decided to take a bust shot to give you a better idea of how her head looks on her shoulders.

Second off, is there anything you could think could be improved about her face?

Is the mouth meant to look that 'tight'? It looks almost sewn shut.

No, but this screen shot was just after UV mapping and it's easier to UV map it like that IMO. It's not separated here because of me being lazy, but it should not be thought that its going to stay that way for the final.

This Better?

I think the short hair makes her look younger.
Also Mouth looks a little better, but to me, it kinda looks like she's 'flexing' her chin.

Flexing... her chin? Care to elaborate on that?

I guess imagine pursing your lips... You know how your chin kinda has to tighten to do that? It's something like that. It's a little pushed in, tesned.

Ok, that bit helps A LOT more.

Please do not be afraid to give harsh criticism. Because I need to be able to work off of the clearest of ideas. And Hash criticism can often be more direct, ergo it is much more helpful, so long that it is backed up with good reasons/explanations.
