Wow, are the spokes transmaps? They look very realistic

Looks like actual geometry to me, Cori.

As Rudi confirms they are real geometry, Part of our Workshop series showing you how to create models The wire wheels took about five minutes to do.

More screen shots of the Car will be starting a Bugatti soon

Very cool artwork. I'm beginning to understand why folks love using Anim8or. I'm new to the software, but quickly developing a true fondness for A8. I'm used the layout in Caligari Truespace, but I'm beginning to get a feel for the modeling controls in Anim8or.

Man, kreator. This stuff is really cool ,but the fact that you're showing us makes me wonder; is thi mainly an enticement to attract many of us to Anim8or World?

I certainly hope so. Anima8or rocks and once I get it together using A8 I more then likely will join myself.

Some more works in progress at Anim8orworld.com, The mech is far in advance of the Image shown here, see the Giant Robot Thread,
http://www.anim8or.com/smf/index.php?topic=4116.30 or http://www.anim8orworld.com/Forum/index.php?topic=35.msg457#msg457 and

The Bugatti is in our Shared Dropbox Folder freely available ( as with all our Workshop Projects) to Premium Members.

DavDud: If you think it is an enticement then so be it, ... We have loads of enhancements to the Forum, but you will never find out unless you take that plunge, We will support Anim8or period.

Ippena: Anim8or is by far the easiest program to use for Modelling, However we prefer to actually render everything with Carrara
( being 20x Faster than Anim8ors Art or Scanline) never did get used to Truspaces constant updates and conflicting Tutorials.
You are more than welcome to hop aboard.

Anim8or, is very cool, but I prefer to render using Truespace as it has several options for rendering quality. It also has a decent set of UV mapping tools as well. I plan to start using A8 for more modeling projects, and use it in conjuction with the modeling tools in TS. Both seem like ideal companions in terms of creating models quite rapidly. Leroy.

Yo Leroy, is Truespace tough to learn? I haven't really looked into it, but what can you do with it?

In many ways Truespace is a lot like Anim8or. It's the first 3d modeler I was able to make any sense of due to my pathetic lack of modeling experience. It's heavily icon driven in terms of the model creation tools. Right clicking icons brings up settings panels to tweak the tools themselves. Right clicking objects is also the way tS edits them. I primarily use the last version Caligari released called 7.61 beta 8; it's actually two modeling softwares in one package. The 7.61 version is based around TS version 7 with more modern modeling tools, and the second version is an older more useful version called TS 6.6. The two are linked via a software bridge so I can switch between them both. I mostly use the older TS 6.6 version as to me it's easier on the brain, and it has quite a few popular model exporters. There's also a plugin structure like Anim8or that uses 6.6 TSX and 7.61 RSX based plugins for things like what Anim8or plugins can do. There are quite a few model export/import user created plugins. I found some for X, ASE, OBJ, and a ton of them used for the Unreal game engine. As far as ease of use I find it quite simple to learn with a little patience. As far as render options TS natively supports one called Lightworks and another called Virtual Light. It can render other formats via plugins as I recall. As far as I know it's still available as a free download. The United 3D Artists forum has more information and download links for anyone interested. (http://) Btw, I go by BNG on that forum.

I love model aircraft nice work Kreator. How do you make your wing objects? I usually start with a sphere flatten and stretch that, and add a level of sub division. I also use the spline tool for more complex wing layouts and sub divide these. Most of the models were created in Truespace, but I am starting to get up to speed on the modeling tools in Anim8or; awesome little 3D cre8tor for such a compact little program. Would love to see a final render when you have time. Leroy.

Above Animation is rendered in OpenGL. Did a test image in ART which took over 4 hours and with 1200
odd frames for the animation I think ART is a big NoGo! so I`ll probably do all the rendering with Carrara.

My wings are done the "real" old fashioned way, which is how I have always done it.
I make a former for the initial shape then gradually reduce the size towards the wing tip, then connect and add faces.

Nice! I've made a few bi planes in Truespace, and now I'd like to try my hand using Anim8or to make some more aircraft. I'm currently working on a model for BZII; an older video game that I make models for. Raxx, is working on an XSI version 1 exporter script. Here's a Anim8or render. The model is a light scout type equiped with dual guns, a rocket and special weapon. BZII, is a moddable game where people can make customized models and props to add new stuff to the game.
