I did not realize Anim8or did not have sound capabilities. I just assumed! There I go doing that again! Never the less: I really like Anim8or. It was suggested I use Windows Movie Maker to add sound. WMM in Vista is OK. In XP SP3 it is not. I have the latter. Any suggestions are appreciated. I was really hoping to make a movie for the web with this program.
Thanks

If your looking for something free i would recommend virtual dub, or blenders sequence editor, which I'm just starting to learn myself, it seems powerful from what I've seen, but rather complicated and not particularly well documented.

Thanks Navek. I downloaded Virtual Dub and its not obvious how to effectively hit the ground running. I am contemplating buying windows Vista. I would rather not, but I am getting confident with my Anim8or skills and need that version of Windows Movie Maker. I can't seem to let go of Anim8or! :'(

http://www.avs4you.com/AVS-Video-Editor.aspx
may be of use....think it works for a trial period
has multi audio tracks unlike windows movie maker.
needs 1gb ram though.
xp should have wmm ...its available as a download too.
though has a poor reputation.

I use Movie Maker all the time, but with my horrible RAM and processor, it's hard to run even that in decent quality, and takes FOREVER to save my videos. also Audacity can help you mix sounds. I haven't used it much since I just got it, but it helped me make an explosion for my latest video

Vegas works perfect for me.

Hey Gang
Thanks for stopping by with your input. I was able to tweak Windows Movie maker. There were multiple codecs set up in Windows Movie Maker and I chose only one. I was able to do a quick small test AVI with an opening credit, my flying saucer video and a closing credit and a small (very) MP3. I am feeling rather optimistic and jumping back on the anim8or band wagon again, even after I just borrowed 4 Blender books from the library! :-)
