Hi
I have dedicated a lot of time to anim8or. Its fun and so far I like my results.
Any way I am playing with the light that I added. When I look in the Scene and play with the light, I notice it acts the the opposite I expect. I am in the top view. When I rotate the light to the left, I notice the light cast on my object moves to the the right? Am I missing something?

Glad to hear you like Anim8or! Let's see the details.... First off, what kind of light is it?
For right now, I'm going to assume it's Infinite.
What an Infinite light does is cast a light that way infinitely on all object in the direction it's facing; No matter where you put it, it all depends on the way you face it.

Hi davdud101
thanks for the fast response! Yes, it is infinite.

make sure ur model isnt inside out. you can "flip normals" i think its in edit but i could b wrong its not hard to find.
-
Hey rellik, I just tested that by flipping the normals , then back, and apparently that's not his problem...
-
Yes Davdud you are right. I flipped the normals when I colored the faces. Maybe I will post a pic later. Got this work thing I gotta do ;-)
-
does it happen when you render the scene?
a lot of times what is on the anim8or 3d world does not match up with the render. its always good to make test renders to see what it would look like because it doesnt always match up.
-
rellik has a good point, Blick. What you see is basically the lo-quality version of the final render.

Hi gang
Thanks for the input. davdud101, thanks for caring :-)
I guess ultimately we should play around until we get our results or close to them. I am going to move on to animation. I feel I got some good light results :-)

Nice pic blick fang. But you can still make it look a bit better with some simple adjustments:
When compositing you have to try to match your 3d with the real-live footage. Try to match the grain, the blur and the black and white values/colors. You background is pretty blurry and has some noise. Also the blackest point in your background is less black then the ufo.
Some motion blur and engine flares would be nice too ;)

Hi Floyd
Thanks for the input. However I am putting my focus now on animations instead of stills. I have included the .an8 file here for you or anyone to use. If you do some of the the effects you mentioned, can you tell me how you did them? My animation tests can be viewed here:
Thanks and have a nice Monday! :-)
