Hi. I need to make an Easter tv Ident. So, in the scene there will be some wine glasses. And because the ART Ray Traces render to damn slow, i came up with some glass ideea for scanline render.
Do you think the glasses looks realistic enough?
This is just a raw render, the final product will look even more realistic.

By their shapes it looks relatively realistic (Heck everything else is quite awesome.)
Perhaps add some reflection map to get a little bit of the surroundings. The light reflected on some wine glasses show a tiny bit of their surroundings. Or instead you could try faking the distorted reflection of the background through it using the same method.

the glasses work well enough the eggs in the basket are more difficult to interpret visually.

They look very good for scanline.
Have you tried for ART lowering RayDepth scene attribute from default 12 to i.e 6-7? That was enough for me to render realistic looking liquid animation in reasonable time (actually almost every material in that scene was raytraced). This way you could have refractions in the wine and reflections from the table. While overlapping or near overlapping refractive materials render much slower and current thin 'shell' - glass looks so good that you'd not even need to put raytracing attributes into that material. That's another speed up.
If you've already decided on scanline I'd make liquid more red and a bit less transparent on the second shot. For more realism I'd overlay in video composing software 15-25% percent soft shadow of the glasses because they're floating at the moment without any sign of shadow or reflection from the surface.
BTW. There's something wrong with texture of the plate the cake lays on. It appears stretched and not intentional.
I can't wait to see finished spot ;)

Thanks very much guys for the comments.
I've been told the eggs are a little difficult to see, captaindrewi , so you're right.
Also, I thing I'll make the glass shadows on the wood texture, for saving rendering time, same I did with the plate.
The plate texture is UV applied, but I'm gonna unwrap the mesh for better texturing.

Pretty good, especially considering what you are trying to do with glass in scanline! What is that bread? I want some!

LOL. Yeah, Arik, it is a sponge cake with cocoa. It is delicious. It's a tradition around here on Easter.
I want some too.
