Title: Begginers help: Dollar bill.
Post by: Becadefia on July 01, 2010, 09:00:38 pm
Ok, so I've got the texture down, and I got the shape, but when I put the picture, the other end is a mirror image? How do I make both sides exactly the same?

two ways.
either make it a box rather than one single plane, then simply select your faces and apply the texture of the back of a doallar to the back of ur model.

or

in your material settings there a button for "two sided materials." just click on the back side and load a texture in so the back will be the back.

i think im right. but if im not some1 else will correct me.

Be careful with 2 sided materials, they are not supported by the ART renderer (V0.97).  The better way is, as rellik420 suggests, to give the bill a tiny bit of thickness, as in real life (nothing in RL is truly 2 dimensional).

Yes, but when I do, it reflects on the other side?

Yes, if you UV map both faces from the same side it should go through both faces and project through the whole thing.

You will need to group-select the individual faces on the other side of the note while in point-edit mode, and reset the UV mapping for those faces.

Can you go over that step by step? Cause I'm really new to this.
