Title: [ COMPLETE ] Challenge #19: Grrrr.....Awww!

Grrrr....Awww!

Something a little different this time! The goal is to create a creature (either a real-life animal or fictional), that's totally cute but tries to be fierce! Portray this in a 5-second minimum, 30 second maximum animation complete with environment and sound effects!

Must be modeled, animated, and rendered in Anim8or. Post-work allowed in video editing programs only, and can only be touch ups, compositing, and minor special effects.

Enjoy! But remember the challenge rules and post your progress, c&c, and/or final renders in this topic.

Deadline: 4 weeks (July 26)

What will be judged:
This challenge will have a public poll. Vote for the best animation.

How to submit:
Please submit an HD video via Youtube or Vimeo

Nice idea Rellik, and nice challenge Raxx - I will really try to make something , as you know animation, especially creatures, is not my cup of tea, so dont expect too much ;)

well... looks like i have to do this challenge. in the 20 seconds of thinking about it, it looks great in my head. now if only i can do something with that.

The mouth is going to be morphed for expressions... it's in "non-expression" position.

good lookin piglet there arik.

im most likely going to have to redo the bottom half of the body. i havent cleaned the mesh or really shaped it yet but heres where im at.

btw cuteness is an opinion. and i think my cuteness will be more in the face and animation than anything. even ugly things can do cute stuff.

Yes, am still working on mine.. just don't want to "give it away" until time is right.  When I've sorted out my test-Piglet (the normal Piglet) for animation, I'll have something more to show.

And sorry, guys, I've just been too busy to do this one... :( Never had a good idea, either. I haven't modeled anything in months and I don't know how long it'll take for me to get back to where I can....

i say leave this one open and move onto a new challenge. i kind of bailed on this and i think there's only 2 entries (that arent finished). im going to finish mine someday but im just 2 tied up right now.

I had some unexpected "life emergencies" that kept my project from finishing. While those emergencies are over, I leave it to my peers to decide how this should go.

Josmic made a great little character, and deserves full credit for sticking through to the end.

I will still finish my project, simply because I have put so much into it, and I am determined to "finish something somehow" ;)

As is, I could post my "before and after Piglet" if anyone wishes to see... though it is more fun, I think, to hold it off for the full animation.

Very nice Josmic8or, I like the expressions on his face :) I think that wildcat roar coulda been replaced with something else but hey, it's your animation. Good job!

I'll leave this one up to Josmic8or since he's the only one that finished. Do we wait for more entries or move on?

Hi guys.
 Sorry about missing this one too.
 Arik: Piglet looks hard case. I can imagine a cigar poking out of his mouth, like an oldtime gangster. ;)
 Good one. :)
 Josmic8or: I think yours is so cute that he has real problems trying to look angry.:) lol
 Maybe he could squint his eyes a bit.
 But anyway, i think he's a really awesome dude. Job very well done.
 (sorry havn't been able to watch video yet. But will this weekend)
  I did make a start on this challenge, was going to do a fierce dog barking at a small bug. Then the bug turns around and stands up to the dog, and the dog instantly freaks out and gives that 'cute-innocent puppy' look.
 I spent a night on trying to get the dog together, but realised that the whole thing was going to take quite a while, and was time that i just don't hav at the moment.
 Anyway, whether you keep this challenge open or not,  well done everyone that had a go.
 Its a big job, when you need to make everything from scratch, so don't feel too bad about not finishing. ;)

I have absolutely no problem handing the GOOD JOB to Jos!

As for Piglet, I originally wanted to give him a "biker" look... but he started to look more like a candidate for "The Village People"... and that freaked me out a bit.

So, I settled on my first idea, to make him look like the old DC comic hero "Seargent Rock"... (inspiration pic attached)

Also, attaching my Piglet, for the most part finished... not counting his "world" and a few details in his costume... anyway, I will work on it as time permits and finish in any case...

I couldn't decide on whether to make Piglet a helmet or what... several people I know suggested an eye patch. The Piglet gif is set to switch between "before" and "after".
