Title: Weight influences on a subdivision
Post by: odp04y on May 28, 2010, 12:26:03 pm
I'm sure this has been asked before but I can't find any topic anywhere on this subject.

Is it possible to use weight influences on a subdivision? Every time I try, I'll paint the weights in figure mode, go to sequence mode move a bone and the object will stay still.

Is there any work around?

did u subdivide the model 1st then rig it? or rig it then subdivide it? i think if u rig it then subdivide it, it wont work.

Thanks, I've also found you need to click another bone after making a change to make it happen.

If you rig a model and then subdivide it. the weight influence will rest and not work. This is because the mesh has changed and has more vertexs than before that is not put into the paint weight. If you subdivid your model first then go to weight paint you will notice that you are painting the unsubdivided model instead of the subdivided version.
