Title: Bringing Models together?
Post by: yi239 on May 21, 2010, 08:00:45 pm
I have a hand, not from the tutorial, but made from seperate parts.
How do i Make the fingers and thumb combine to the hand Combine to the palm to make it look like part of one big model?

this is a bit tricky. i think its mostly used when u mirror one side of the body to make it complete. grab your seperate parts and go to BUild>join solids. that will make it into one solid part. step 2 is to select the points where they connect the press L (make sure its capital L) (its called merge points i 4get how to get to it on the bar.) and there u have it. it should be a solid model.

if you dont merge the points u will get a crease where the 2 objects come together.

Thank you so much. The thumb looks much better, but the fingers look a lil more weird. Wait, i fixed it. Do the same rules apply when the models are subdivided?
And how would i solve the discoloration?

not sure about that. i usually work with an unsibdivide model then subdivide it to see how it looks. so when i merge points and all that its not subdivided. i have no idea about the discoloration.
