Title: How to make a texture to repeat over a model?
Post by: aGMuser on April 18, 2010, 03:54:15 am
I have a 16x16 brick texture and I want it to repeat over my ruin model. But as far as I know this isn't possible, is it? Do I have to make a larger texture, or there's other way to do this?

You can use the uv-tool (http://anim8or.com/manual/buttons/b_uv_u.gif)  in anim8or to edit your texture. You can scale, rotate and move the texture over you mesh using your mouse buttons.

And just how can I scale a texture? Left mouse button rotates it, right mouse button shifts it, the mouse wheel does nothing and so does Settings>Component>texture UV(no matter if that checkbox is checked or not).

The middle mouse button (not the scroll ;)) should scale the texture. Or else try alt + right mouse button...

Thanks so much. alt+right button scales the uv map.... but not the texture:

Why?

you need to rotate your texture by 90 degrees so you get the UV grid

It is also good to have a loopable texture too, nothing more than taking it in a simple editor.

aGMuser when in UV mode double click model and untick the box for enable TexGen and click ok ,now re-enable TexGen and texture should now face

reason is first time you use uv for model converted to mesh anim8or will switch to planner map and orientate the texture to the active viewport

if you use uv tool in point edit mode you must select faces to be edited first it it will not work
