Hi,
I have a problem applying texture to a squre face,it seems a very simple issue, I created a door image, with red background (wall) and the door itself is white,
I seleted one face of my small house, then applied the texture of the door image, however, no matter how I adjust the door image, only the red color is coming out, I couldnt see the door.
Please help, thanks.

Looks to me like a UV sizing and positioning problem. Practice with the UV tool.
What I don't understandf is why, with something as simple as a door, you don't simply model it within the house mesh. That way, you can simply apply colors, without having to deal with a texture.

well let me tell you how the UV works. First it has to be a mesh, then click on the face or model you want to put the texture on. Then click on "UV" tool. A box thingy should be around your model. Use the wheel to change the size of mesh, use the left mouse button to rotate the texture, and use the right mouse button to move the texture. Try to make it fit in the size you want it. Hope this helps :)

Or get Lithunwrap, which I find is a better way to texture models.

Hi Thanks for all of your help, because quite new to 3D modelling tools, so get confused with some simple concept. The uv tools is quite hard for me to map still, anyway I will try to familiar with that.
The reason I dont want to make a door in mesh, is I don't think it is neccessary to create a door which will never open, so save computation and memory, and want to try some texture mapping.
BTW,The LithUnwrap is good, thanks.
Thanks a lot for all your help.

I've found for myself that if you want to apply a texture easily in Anim8or that it's easier to do each side separately. You can have all the details on a single texture and just slide it left or right after you apply it to each side to avoid all the nasty wrestling you might have to do if you tried to do all the sides at once.
