Title: adding a single object to multiple bones

i was wondering how to add an entire model of... a clone trooper or a deer, to a full figure. i have tried and it never works. ???

It's called "multi boned skinning" and it's in the manual.

 Basiacally, add your whole object to bone1, above the root.
 Then skin it. (painted weights)
 If its a horse, or should i say, if it walks, then adding 2 bones above the root, and attaching object to the 3rd, can be really helpfull and timesaving later on, for the up and down movements of the walk.
