Title: Skeleton problem
Post by: Pjotter on September 16, 2009, 10:42:13 am
I imported an obj file. Trying to attach skeleton, but somehow something wrong. Because the mesh is a bit complicated, I can't create skeleton without seeing the mesh. So I created one bone and  did Build / Add object. Looks good. When I move the skeleton, the mesh follows. But when I move mesh, skeleton doesn't. If I move mesh in object view, the skeleton gets disconnected. What am I missing?

in figure mode, the object doesn't have any control over the bones. The bone that owns the object controls the whole object. You'll have to rig your model before the object's points can move along with other bones..... i hope that helped. if not read the manual

I think I am getting it a bit.
Only in sequence mode, the mesh follows skeleton movements.
If I change pose in sequence mode, the pose in figure mode and object doesn't not change.

If I change pose in sequence mode, the pose in figure mode and object doesn't not change.
Sequence mode is totally separated from Object mode (nothing changes there) and is separated from Figure mode in that Figure mode only serves to build a skeleton and skin the object to it.

All movements of your character are set in Scene and Sequence mode only.
