Well I know this is a VERY nooby question but I donīt know how to do it...
Iīm trying to finish the model I started for the "Old & Rusty" challenge (and I couldnīt finish), and when trying to apply a texture it makes strange effects, as seen on the attached image.
What am I supposed to do for texturing objects? Is it just a matter of doing each "face" of the object as a separate object and then joining all together? Iīm sure itīs very easy and there are lots of topics in this forum about it, but my English is not very good and I donīt know the exact terms I should look for...
Please tell me what should I do or pass me a link to a site which explains this...
Thanks in advance

I believe there is a Tutorial in one of the DotAn8 mags about how to use UVMapping techniques. It is in the very first one downloadable from here: http://www.anim8or.com/news/dotAN81.zip (http://www.anim8or.com/news/dotAN81.zip) or if that doesnt work go to the news section of the main anim8or page and look about a third of the way down. It is not any of the two at the very top! The tutorial is a simple one so I don't know If you can use it on you Iron but hopefully it will help you!

For your iron you will need to texture in steps, that is :
for the flat lid, select all the faces and apply texture, then click the UV button and move, resize your texture until it looks good, the same with the flat back and each of the sections at the front.
Work on each section that does not look good now until it is what you want it to look like.
For the handle, while UV is clicked, double click within the yellow circle and select cylindrical to have your texture wrap around the handle, and so on.

Or you could do it that way to... =) Lynn22 has much more experience so I would probably follow his advice!

Well, Iīll try it.
Thanks both for your advice!
