Take a look at these tutorials for multiple bone skeleton (http://www.3d-anim8.com/tutorials/tutorial.asp), skinning, sequence building and rendering your animation.

You're still in figure mode. You need to have your figure in sequence mode or scene mode before you can move it.  ;)

In figure mode make sure that all the joints in their respective bones are there correctly.to ensure this double click on the required bone and set the correct axises of movement. Then go to sequence mode and select the required bone. Then click on the rotate bone tool and move it.You will be able to move the bone only in the direction which you have set in the figure mode .Hope that helps.

To move a bone in sequence mode you first have to click on the "key" button - last button on the right side - when it turns green you can select a bone and move it and the movement will be recorded.

Pleasure sloGGan, There are many more at Dotan8.

I am producing these videos to help all anim8or beginners , much better to see someone actually doing it,  and, in a good format, rather than some obscure Youtube thingy.

I hate looking at them with no idea of what is happening because they don`t actually tell you or stick some music track in!!

sloGGan --- You really should read the manual!  It can answer SO MANY of your basic questions.  For instance: http://www.anim8or.com/manual/7_scene_editor.html#shadows

:)    what rudy means is that in scene mode

you have to add a light then click it and a window opens up and  you go to the advanced tab and click that

and then make sure shadows is ticked and then make sure that you tick ray traced as the manual probably doesn't tell you that the other shadows are buggy

and then close that window and insert an object via The Build menu (hey you use tghis menu to put a light in too :) )

then  double click the object or use the drop down Settings menu and change the elemments settings (our element being the object)

and make sure that casts and recives are checked in the window then close that window and do a  render.

via  Render>Render image

show us what you render

easypeasy 'cept when you are starting and it's all really  confusing?

What headwax said...

And reading the manual will still answer a lot of questions.  Heck, it still comes in handy for those of us who've used Anim8or for a long time!
