Hi everybody !
I'm new here and i just tried this fantastic software ! It's really powerful.
I would like to render this image, but it is very hard for a newbie like me to create this little ant from scratch...
Is it possible to import it in anim8or ? Or does someone can help me ?
Thx by advance.

Anim8or can import .an8, .3DS, and .obj files.
You can use your pic as a reference image, but i don't think Anim8or will take a .gif.
You'll need to convert it to a .jpeg or .bmp image.
Then, in object mode, go Build -> Reference image -> then select your .jpeg or .bmp.
As headwax has said, have a go at modelling it.
Cool Ant. ;)

Wow, great ! Thank you headwax. I'll try now to put a sqeleton in my ant. My purpose is to have my ant completely articulated like a doll... I think i have a lot of work to understand how to do that...

Hi headwax and thx again for your help.
I need help again, i read a lot of tutorials but maybe i didn't understand all because my english is quite bad (i'm french). My problem is that i added a squeleton but when i move the ant's arm by exemple, the ant's arm does not follow the arm's bone. Do you know why ? Can you please help me in putting a squeleton in your ant.an8 file ?
Thank's by advance.

FredericP there are step by step image tutorials on skeletons and skinning (= adding your object to the skeleton to make it move) here (http://www.3d-anim8.com/tutorials/tutorial.asp)
If you have questions about these tutorials you can post them in french on the board of that site :)

Thank you for the link but i didn't learn anything new. But maybe i've understand something : In the ant.an8 file headwax made for me (attached in previous msg of this post), there is only one object (the ant), so when i try to attach bones, i can only attach the whole ant. Does the ant must have several objects (arms, legs, head, hands, feet, etc...) so i will be able to attach each object to each bone ? And if so, how can i separate each body parts ?

@ fredericP: you don't have to have an character made of seperate parts to rigg it. You can have a character made out of one object (like the ant) and skinn it. You can do this using bone influences or painting weights. This way to apply faces of the object to the bones.
read more about it in the manual: http://anim8or.com/manual/5_figure_editor.html#skinning
