Hi! New to Anim8or!! I'm working on a model of an open-end wrench. I built the block model, and it looks good. What I wanted to do is round out all the edges except the inside of the jaws of the wrench. I thought that all I had to do was select the edges I wanted to keep square, go edit>edge properties>crease, and that would make it work. However, I was sadly mistaken. Can anyone tell me what I need to do? Would I be better off to use a method other than block modelling?
Thanks,
PG

As far as I know,
1. Subdivide the model, (make sure it is a "subdivision" not a mesh that has been subdivided and converted to mesh after that. more info in manual.)
Press CTRL-F or CTRL-W to get to wire frame modes.
2. Get the "edge" tool. Draw select the points (not edges, it doesn't always come out properly) that connect to the edges that you want squared again.
3. While they are selected, click the menu Edit>>Edge Properties, then click "rounded" and in "level" type 1, 2, or 3 depending on how squared/flat you want them (3 is flattest, 1 is kind of flat, 2 is medium)
I hope this helps!

Or;
Theres a 'draw line' tool?. (i think thats what its called. Down the leftside toolbar, while in point edit mode, its a knife.
Select that, and the edge selection setting. (ie: points, faces or edges, choose edges.)
Now you can cut new lines into your object.
To keep the inside of the jaws 'sharp-edged' while subdividing the whole spanner, just cut a new line really close to the existing inside-jaw lines.
Hopefully you can follow that. Sorry i can't post an image right now.
By cutting a new line on the inside of an existing line.
Then go 'build -> convert to subdivided'.
Hope that helps.

Thanks for the help. Check out the wrench from four different views in the Finished Artwork section. Thanks again.
