Title: Animating a Virtual Map
Post by: Chris40000 on May 23, 2009, 12:11:47 pm
I want to make a huge island, and divide it into states like USA only different. Then insert mountains, rivers etc onto it. A little like Sim City 4 only bigger. Then be able to print it, but it needs to be big. At the moment have only an A4 printer which i fear might make it look to small. What ways could I do this with limited equipment. I was thinking Visio but how would I print it only having A4 printer ?

i dunno what a4 and visio are. but, you could always print in sections. it will take a bit of math and calculations. but in theory u can make it as pig as u want. most all porgrams have a print preview screen. so i would use that to ur advantage. but if u want so,ething bigger that a piece of paper. print out sectrions of ur finished then tape it together. hope that gave u atleast an idea of how 2 go about it.

@rellik: a4 is an international paper standard of about 29,7 cm heigh and 21 cm width.

@chris: You can always let a copyshop print it for you. Most copyshops print out stuff on poster format for about 10 dollar or something. Look for a local copyshop or one online (online might be more expensive because they need to send it).
