Title: My geytar
Post by: almost cool on May 16, 2009, 12:40:49 pm
Im back everyone! I haven't posted anything for months, but i found new interest!

I am a bit (a lot) rusty , but i had a go at modeling my fender guitar. i don't like it, but i still have to add detail anyway .

Please do offer suggestions, i kinda need them. Oh, and those screws aren't textured onto the pick guard, they are textured individual planes.

Nice start.  My advice would be to start smoothing the outline of the guitar body, head and pickguard.  To do that you can start by simply using the cut tool and dragging the points to form nice curves.
Then, you can use the bevel tool to make the edges smoother (especially on the body.)
Nice job with the texturing though, the neck and head look nice (at least from this angle, I don't think it would hold up at more extreme angles as you could tell they were only textures.  Perhaps you could try actually modeling the strings frets and tuners!

Keep it up

Actually i did make the tuners not too long ago. and i did your cut technique, so i might just take it to the extreme and then upload it. Ill try making the strings too, as models don't stretch on the sides.
