Title: Mirror Tricks
Post by: onespirit5777 on April 17, 2009, 05:23:34 pm
This was made using two spheres and one extruded hexagon. I'll let everyone try to figure it out before I post the trick.

Ooooh... You may be on to something onespirit...
How about regularly doing this? it's interesting to try and figure out how the effects you create are done.

Very nice.

Close dread - but look at the center of my reflections - mine looks like a honeycomb.

I think I know how you did yours - Still looks very cool!!

I'll see if I can figure yours out.

I was playing around trying to duplicate dreadkb's and this happened.

The backside of the extruded hexagon it green but the rest is reflection.
The large sphere is reflection

I put a light just behind the camera and aimed toward the back of the hexagon.

Camera angle is 90

This is what I did on the first pic

The extruded hexagon was extruded without ends.

If you want a really interesting render, try using the inside of a icosahedron (all mirrored of course)

Edit: AA turned off to increase speed.

Nice work mate, maybe putting human models in their to get more abstract renders?
Not sure how long that would take to render though.
