Since nobody ever replied to my other thread, I decided to make a new one.
Current Project: Wendalyn The Witch

very nice and cool texture work
i found a few geometry problems like the triangles on the shoulder but otherwise great texturing and modeling
-
Good work! Looks like you had fun doing that.

Airedale11: Please refrain from posting until you have some content to post. Also, if people didn't reply to the last thread, there is no need to create a new one. As you create more work people will comment and give advice, especially if you ask for advice.

Uhh guys I didn't make the picture
-
This is how far I am.
-
Here's an update I made the hair and the hat and added some textures . I made the face texture myself. I made the hat by making a curved line and lathe-ing(I don't know how to spell that) it in the Y direction. The rest of the body are just colour textures. I'm going to make the neck and the little pink bat on the hat.
-
nice1, got one thing: I think the head is a bit to round, it should be 'longer'... (or am I totally wrong?)
-
Jehovahenker: OK I made the head a bit more square and added some more parts.
The only thing left for me to make is her backpack. If there is anything that I can improve on please let me know.
-
That looks like a decent start. Do you want to keep the characters blocky?
The hat right now could go a bit further down on the head. It doesn't seem as if it's actually tight on the head. Instead it looks like it's about to fall off.
The ears could use a little work, they look like simple little bumps right now. You seem to be doing pretty well on the texturing (though it's basic, it's still nice and precise.)
-
Yeah since they are blocky in the game. How do I improve the ears because I made them by extruding one face on each side of the head.
-
You can start by giving the ears more vertices around. Instead of a simple cubic structure you can give it more form, which will give you more control and make it look less like a little bump in the side of the head. Then you can give it depth. Nobody's ears are simply flaps of skin sticking out, they indent to catch sound, so you can inset the face then intrude.
-
How do I add more vertices And here's an update with the hat a bit more on her head.
-
Use the cut tool!
The hat looks much better by the way.
-
Here's a scene I made ,Wendalyn on her flying broom.
-
Thats looking nice, airedale!
I see you put a poll up, the thing is I don't know all the characters.. So i just voted for the one with the funny name, "Sir Vincent Skullfinder"
-
Here's a picture of Sir Vincent Skullfinder Note: I did not make it. I'm just showing you what he looks like.
-
Hahah i'm going for that one 2! :D
Nice work so far, airedale! Planning on animating these characters?
-
Yeah I already made a scene that Wendalyn flies around on her broom. (just her on her broom flying out of the camera screen. Very short scene)
-
Here are the other character's that are in the poll Again Note: Did not make them I couldn't find any pictures of Star but she's a ninja. And I couldn't find any pics of Mel either
-
Here's Wendalyn in her business called 'Cauldron Creations'
-
OK the polls are closed now. The next character I'm making is Sir Vincent Skullfinder, after him Star and 3rd Cap'n Ginny. Travis, Roxie Road and Mel the Mummy will be in the next poll with three new characters.

How good does my work have to be to get into the gallery?

How good does my work have to be to get into the gallery?
That's up to steve to decide. I have seen awesome works made with anim8or which never ended up in the gallery.
-
Here's a start to Sir Vincent.
-
I'm having a little trouble rigging it. I tried using the weight brush like I did with Wendalyn but it comes out like gum in sequence mode.
Help me.
EDIT: and sorry I haven't been updating Vincent over there, I was too busy with school (projects, tests etc.)
-
thats probably becouse it is a subdivision mesh.
-
Well Wendalyn was also a subdivision mesh.
-
Can you show your rig with the wireframe?
