Hi all.
Iīm formelly know as "rallydriver". Some might remember me. Started modeling in 2004...and so on. Iīm back with anim8or for some little projects...well.. random models ;D
I discovered that Anim8or has some wild changes, like ART renderer which is AWESOME. Huge thanks to Steve for keeping this freeware. This is more lighter than any other 3D-software. All tho My PC can handle tons of more polys in 3DsMax and in Blender than in Anim8or but this is still great for low-oply objects.
Anyway, hereīs a first WIP for this topic. Itīs a hydraulic cylinder.
A sneak preview. Will have much more details.

Hi!
Nice hydraulic cylinder you got there! :)
Also nice use of reflections and OC. Anim8or has changed loads thanks to steve's programming! And I can't wait for the new version. :)

Thank you!
Everybody likes pictures so hereīs a better render plus a wireshot.
As you can see the fluid...holes are attached to the cylinder object like in a real life.

Great to see you back!
Knowing you, this is only a very small sneak peak! I'm looking forward to more :D
-
Thanks hiho! Not sure about how detailed a cylinfer can be :D
Anyway I learned to use AO, Yay!

Heh thats great work so far rall... uhh Tomil (tomil? what does that stand for?)
Can't wait to see what this will turn out to be!
Good luck on this piece. eager to see updates!

(tomil? what does that stand for?)
My name is Tomi and L is the first letter of my last name ;)

Meh....plain cylinder is boring.
Lets add something for it :D

A WIP wheel.
Scene enviroment: Cubemap
Lights: One infinite and one local
AA: 64
Render time: So long that I didnīt even bother to calculate it.

Hey Tomi, thats looking good so far! Nice threads on the tire.
I like the cartoony look!
(maybe you can do the WIP renders without the cubemap ;) that will save you some time maybe! )
Good luck on the modeling! want to see more :)

Heyyy guys! :)
I wanted to model a TEQ-logo, which means To-yo-da = Toyota. My old Land Cruiser has that logo in a winch and in an engine block.
I think the TEQ logo is kind of cool so I modeled it. Still WIP and Iīm thinking what to do with it. Iīm going to smooth the circle edges etc.

interesting technique there! I like it so far. I think the background doesn't help though ;)

Found a nice side picture of my car and desited to model it. Might be some use in some game...maybe.
The side picture has perspectivity in it but itīs still usable. Top print is pretty useful too and some parts of the front. Mostly Iīm relaying on reference pictures. The model wont be 100% accurate, what ever that means, but itīs close enough
I hope my PC can handle this model. Iīm aiming for 10k polys.
Oh and the vehicle is Toyota Land Cruiser BJ40, from 1975.
Updates someday!

10,000 polys should cause no problem, even for basic systems. Some of my models have over 500,000 polys and Anim8or handles them fine. Hi res textures are more likely to bog things down and create massive files than polys these days. Great work so far, looking forward to seeing this model come to life.
