Title: Problem with scaling
Post by: Bobert on March 01, 2009, 04:09:24 pm
I'm having a problem with the non uniform scale tool in anim8or.

For instance, lets say i have two verticies across from each other on the x axis and I want to scale them further apart on the x- axis. Sometimes, when I use the non uniform scale on the two vertices, they either scale to one side (instead of apart) or they scale apart but at unequal rates, making the model look non symetrical.

Am I doing something wrong or is this some kind of bug? ???

That has to do with where the object's axis is.  The points will move in relation to the axis.  You can change where the axis is by going to the "Object/Axis" section (the button under the object/edit button, one of the 4 buttons on the top left.)

Thank you very much! :)

You can completely center the axis to the object by selecting it, and then doing a 'join solids'. That should be useful if you want them scale just as much to either side.

Another thing that people forget to do is -->edit...---->Locate...--->Center about Origin.......----> repeat last steps then...---->Stand on Ground. It makes life easier when using the tools in Anim8or.

just a thought. ;)
