Title: Music for animated movies
Post by: haiku on February 16, 2009, 02:55:54 pm
hello all, im new to this forum so id like to introduce myself. I go by the name of Haiku and i offer you a hand of friendship  ;) I am a musician and composer with an interest in writing music for animated movies. I would like to offer my services to any animators out there who want top class music for their animations, free of charge. I only ask that you give me credit for being the composer. Also i am looking for someone who might be interested in doing an animation for me. I have a piece of music which you can hear at http://www.myspace.com/ryanduende (http://www.myspace.com/ryanduende) the piece is called paintings on a desolate landscape and is a deep and eary melody so im looking for someone to do a rather haunting ani for me. Other than that im interested in computer games like the legend of zelda and i also study classical guitar you can see some of my videos over at youtube http://www.youtube.com/delfin96 (http://www.youtube.com/delfin96) i have some versions of zelda songs on there and a funny version of the mario theme tune. Ok hope to get to know you all around here. Many thanks for reading.

An interesting piece of music there. I have a suggestion. You could post this music on Animonon. We have monthly contests there. I would love to see making a video for your music be the challenge for March. This way you would have a whole bunch of videos to choose from. Heck, we could hold the contest right here (if that's ok with the mods)

Awesome idea dread!
It's wierd, I can actually picture the animation to go with the music in my head... but my skills are not yet at a level that I think of as high enough for this sort of challenge yet. :P

It's called a challenge for a reason. We only learn by pushing ourselves to new heights. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

obviously there would be a quite a bit of work to do, i mean i cant just write the music then say 'here you go, plonk that on your animation' it needs to be timed and so on. I guess there would be a lot of collaboration work needed and oppurtunity to discuss the plus' and minus' of each others works! ok keep in touch
