I opened V0.97 in Windows 7 64 bit and it is working great. I have not had an error.

Really, how great, how many polygons before any noticeable lag?
This is great, M$ is finally following the right path.

easy to assume microsoft is doing better. The api doesn't change much. I would place money on the video card being a good choice ;)

I do not know yet. Been working on my desktop.

just out of curiosity.... will the pissed off vista users (like me, unfortunately) get a free update or do we have to pay. I personally believe we should be reimbursed for the damages from this horrible concoction they call "VISTA".

jdonzae, your issue is a matter of opinion. Some people like vista, and have had no issues, some hate it. You probably wont get a free update, though then again you never know. Remember though, they still have to make profit to be able to continue improving.

I doubt it, as a 'New OS', 7 will probably be sold like all the others have, but Vista wasn't that bad.
BTW: jdonzae, your opinions are better off at an official Microsoft/Windows forum, if there is such a thing, where they can 'hear' you, not in an art forum ;)

One more question..... Will windows 7 be compatible to Vista's hardware or will I have to upgrade the parts again/ buy a new computer????

Yes

7 is basically a Vista without the bugs, and they took off all the unnecessary bits to speed it up a bit.

They would probably allow you to have a discounted upgrade (They would lose about 75% of their profits if they gave it away free [If they never got Vista, they probably wouldn't get Windows 7]).
Anyway, Vista isn't that bad. The only downside I have ever ran into is that it takes about 700 MB of RAM by itself.
They just did a bit of stream-lining and compatibility stuff.
And yes, Windows 7 will be compatible with all Vista Drivers, at least until companies start releasing drivers specifically for that OS.
I am glad to hear that it runs just fine though :D.
