Whaddya think? Made for a friend's birthday party, if anyone would be so kind as to add motion-y sort of blur in the appropriate places (My sense of image effects is very skewed) I would be most grateful!

Had a quick go:

Photoshop is an awesome tool.

Here's a variation on the theme, just to give you a choice ;)

Awesome, both great, it's too hard to choose between them so i'll just use both!
Cheers for that, my mate's gonna love these.
;D

Well done on that motion blur by both of you. Do you mind sharing your techniques? Did you simply use a blur tool in photoshop or gimp? Or was there more too it?
-
My method is very simple:
In photoshop CS2, duplicate layer > Filter > Motion Blur
Then use erase tool on the top layer to remove any motion blur that you don't need.
You should see the original layer under the blur layer.
Flatten image and that's it.

In Photoshop make a duplicate layer (always do that, if it goes wrong then no harm done, but you know that) select the ball and deselect the finger holes, extend the selection over the area where you want PS to create motion streaks. Use Blur > Motion and set the direction to where you want the streaks to show and that's it.
