Title: Ambient Occlusion
Post by: Bobert on December 30, 2008, 03:41:46 pm
So I heard the most recent version of ART now has the ability to do Ambient Occlusion renders. So I went on the website to check it out and try it for myself.... only problem is I'm not to sure how to do this... :-\

Any suggestions on how to do an ambient occlusion render in anim8or?

It's really simple. First create a new material, use the default settings but set the specular to 0.
Apply this material to all the objects, maybe not to the ones with special materials like glass. Go to scene mode, make a new attribute called: AmbientOccluder with a int value of 1. Then change the lighting value to global: 0 and ambient: 3.14.
Use a high AA-value when you render, like 64 or 256 and you are done.

Thanks Kubajzz and floyd86 for the quick response. I really do appreciate it. Well I'm off to try the ambient occluder. :)
