:(well, there are several features that i found not work:
1. The add edge. I have read a low poly head tutorial, and it is said that we can create a new edge by holding shift key and dragging left mouse button. But when i tried it, nothing happened. I only can create a new edge if i drag it from a point.
2. When i chose "2 views" mode (or more), only one of them works. ???
Well, i don't know what to do. I really need these features to try polygonal modeling...(i have never tried them before). All advises and suggestions are appreciated. :)

can you give us a picture of the icon you are clicking on to add and edge?

It worked at once, but when i restarted the program, it didn't work anymore.
OK, this one:

I take it that you are trying to edge loop?
Are you using the "add edge" tool on a mesh?
Create your staring cube then convert to mesh, select the Add Edge tool and loop away.
Start at a point (not an edge) then each line end point will turn red and snap to the nearest point.

Perhaps you're in the wrong viewing mode? If you're in the smooth shaded mode, you wont be able to see the vertices or edges you create. Be sure you're in wireframe mode when holding shift and clicking/dragging the mouse.

Oh, that's it...
thank You, i was not in wireframe mode. Now i can work again. Thank You very much

Well, what is edge loop? It sounds interesting to me...

One of the best definitions I've come across of edge loops is from Tamas Varga's page Here (http://maxrovat.sns.hu/subdiv/) under subdivision modeling.
Edge Loop: (n) An interlocking series of continuous mesh edges used to accurately control the smoothed form of an animated subdivision surface.
Edge loops are basically what define the topology of a mesh, which is very important, especially when working with subdivision models, or models you want to animate. Often times the flow of the edges in a model mirrors that of muscles, though this is not always true, as you simply want to have the edges/faces flow correctly over the surface creating the best representation of a surface. Still more, this methodology is most needed for animateable models, as they create correct deformations.
Here are some great resources in no particular order:
