i am starting to model/render some thing lying near my keyboard. Brands will be ( obviously) made up
-
may i ask why you have mayonaise by your keyboard? :P
-
part of yesterdays lunch/diner :)
-
There you go, even a rather mundane object can be very photogenic.
A beautiful render Benzjie and great texture work :)
-
Oh you beat me up.
Making a halfway squeezed tube of something like toothpaste or, there you went, mayonnaise, that was a perfect example of the things you can do with the Magnet Sphere script.
I think I'll link this post on the Magnet tools' thread.
Very well done Benzjie, that's truly a realistic render.
-
wasn't made with the magnet tool btw
-
Awesome, very realistic shape, do you think you could render it over the top of a picture? or against a picture, from the same angle
Just to see how close you've got to the real thing
Blank out the brands of course :P
Your materials and texturing are very nice!
-
hmm...the entire brand is made up....in fact the entire texture is made from scratch.....i'll render 1.
-
wasn't made with the magnet tool btw
Yes I imagined that, I guess you used modifiers or vertex editing, eventually on a subdivided structure...
I'd like to know how exactly you made it, and eventually - forgive me for asking such a thing - would you try to do the same work with one of the magnet tools (I mean just squeezing the tube, not modelling it from scratch)?
I wonder if they can be really useful or if they're just a crazy idea of mine, being that I know almost nothing about modelling techniques.
One of the ideas is saving some work to people that already know how to model, and since I believe you know your job, I'd appreciate your feedback.
Sorry for going so off-topic, Benzjie, I look forward for your next renders.
-
i can send you the an8 file if you want....
-
That's too kind of you benzjie, would you attach it to a post here so that all the community can take advantage of?
I'm sure I wouldn't be the only one to download it, your model is neatly designed and the texture is perfect... ehehehe, "with real artificial eggs", btw I'd like to read the fine print of the ingredients!
Thanks a lot for sharing dude.
-
2 tubes...1 unmodded...1 modded + textures
-
Heck... the textures too? I thought that would have been asking too much, but that's the spirit of the community, thanks a lot benzjie.
-
ouch... just saw the original shape before the subdivision... that technique is way easier and faster than editing an high-poly with the magnet script! Oh well...
Well done, and thanks again for sharing. You opened my eyes on the real power of subdivisions.
-
Haha, I think if i saw that for sale in a shop, i'd buy it, just for the lols :P
-
I'm impressed man thats nice.
"With real artificial egg?" lol
-
Great!if you will notice the gridlocked artery inc.
That is what made me laugh
-
this is the next thing..allmost done
-
Is that anim8or? if yes... WOAH!
-
modelled in anim8or... rendered with KT.. I think the renderer in anim8or can do the same thig.. but i find KT easier to use....
-
Awesome texturing work... wish i could do that!
Mabye some day...
-
clipper is done....left to o....tigerbalm, 2 leaky pens, book of cigarette paper
-
Could you explain just a little how do you render in KT an object modelled in An8 ? You export your scene in .3ds format ? No lost of quality ? Thanks, i'm very interested :)
-
just export the model as 3ds. But there is one important step b4 exportng. Go to "OPtions" , "Debug"...then uncheck "Split TExtured 3dspoints" Now you can open the model in Kerkythea.

Thank you very much for the tip !
