Title: Twirl - abstract test render
Post by: hihosilver on November 10, 2008, 02:46:58 am
Since I never have any time to do anything I figured today I would do something really quickly just for the sake of having something up after a million years... or so it seems.
This is very heavily inspired by this (http://forums.3dtotal.com/showthread.php?t=19510&page=145).  Not very original but I thought I'd give it a shot.

Here are some comparisons to look at:  The first is scanline with shadows, the second is ART with no shadows, the third is ART with shadows.

And the last is the scanline render with some post-pro in photoshop elements 3.0

Playing around again:
I'm starting to like these, they hardly take any time, which is the kind of time I currently have...  :-\

I think the last render in the first post is superior. The second post ice twirl doesn't have depth and mystery. It doesn't say anything to me.  Not like the first post anyways :)

I agree with you there.  I honestly wasn't very pleased with the ice twirl... honestly I just posted it to look like I get things done once and a while ;)

Hopefully I'll get some more of these done.  Thanks for the comment :)

am i the only one thinking 'blood vessel'?  those red-and-black renders make me feel like i was looking down somebody's artery, except without any blood cells in it.  really atmospheric.

Haha same here actually.  In the rendering process I had a render where some of the red was very strong and melded in with some other pieces, made it look very much like a blood vessel.
